Thoughts for today

I doubt if a lot of viewers have seen the bumper sticker, ’Honk if you love Jesus’. It was a common sight many years ago. That’s where the idea for today’s cartoon comes from. Bumper stickers went away when bumpers went away on cars. In the year 2008 our new KIA has no such thing as a hard bumper. The old real bumpers could be used to push against when you helped some person get into a gas station when they ran out of gas. Today a push event would total both the pusher and the pushed car. Cars today are made like tin cans, one piece strong when sitting on the shelf holding a liquid. Put them on the floor, add just a slight bit of foot pressure in the middle and they collapse. We have six air bags in our KIA. When some big foot steps on us we have a better chance to live than any of my old cars that got nine miles to the gallon. That poor gas mileage followed a tank fill up price of less than four dollars.
