The spiral galaxy M83 is way out there in space. It takes light 15 million years to reach us from M83. That light is traveling at 186,000 miles per second. I get tired driving down to Oklahoma, 250 miles away. It takes about 5 hours with stops to get there. I think of these things. I compare my car moving at 65 miles per hour to light's 186,000 miles per second and it blows me away. I don't have the time to drive to M83 nor the $3.00 per gallon fuel fortune that it would take to get there. This all seems odd. Why do odd thoughts sneak into lives? As I get older, the odd thoughts tend to gang up on me. I have to judge which odd thought should get it's place in Giggles from Beyond. I believe I enjoy this task. During many of these judging exercises, I laugh to myself as I review the odd thought offerings. The one that gets the biggest laugh is the winner. It's always easy.
