Thoughts for today

I fell to the floor from a punch to the stomach my Dad had provided. I briefly passed out. This and severe spankings are my father’s day memories. Our five children have no idea what this kind of Dad means. That‘s the good thing I remember on Father‘s day. Father’s day has it’s time but, to me it’s the Mom in the mix that matters. Mothers are the soul of a family. We men are only here to mow the lawn. Be quiet, do your job, harm no one, thank-you. Back to some thoughts on books. During my early Catholic days I had a book by my side called ’My Daily bread’, written by Anthony J. Paone, S.J. I dearly loved this book. I gave this treasured book to my Mom who wrote this on the back of it’s cover." This book was given to me at a time when my life was in a great turmoil, I thank God and my wonderful son Louis for the strength it gave me. Mom" Dad and Mom memories for me have the whole spectrum of care within them. Some to none to lots, it’s all there.
