Thoughts for today

Having my own room in a house with two sisters was a great thing in my teen years. I had drawings on every square inch of the four walls. When company came over to our house my Mom would yell out, " Shut Louie’s door". One of my two sisters would run back to my space and shut my door. I stayed up late each night drawing whatever came to mind. When Life magazine did a piece on Michelangelo’s Sistine chapel I drew everyone of the scenes on type writer paper that my Mom gave me to draw on. I drew comic books about little powerful worms and super flying humans that saved everything in sight. Then one day baseball came my way. Pencil and paper were replaced by a glove and a bat. I had a hoop over our garage door to shoot baskets with a Step Father who came along after my Dad was killed in a railroad accident. We talked sports a mile a minute. He was a great Step Dad to me.
